Adria Daraban is a registered architect, author, and Professor of Architecture – Theory – History at the University of Kaiserslautern. Working at the intersection of architectural practice and critique, architectural theory, and history, she explores the social, economic, and political conditions of spatial production. Her research and teaching focus on approaches to spatial practice oriented toward the common good, as well as on the transformation of architectural practice and education in response to climate and societal challenges.

She studied architecture and received her PhD from RWTH Aachen University. Since 2009, she has worked as an architect and has taught and conducted research at several German universities, including RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin, the University of Kassel, and BTU Cottbus. Daraban is co-editor of the online journal archimaera and has contributed to numerous architectural publications.

She is a co-founder of Initiative. Umbau and a member of the university network Gemeinsam für die Bauwende. Her recent work includes curating the exhibition Zukunft Bau Pop-Up Campus Aachen and co-editing the accompanying publication (2023), as well as the New Tools publication series, which examines the evolving relationship between architectural theory and practice in the context of climate change and socio-demographic transformation.
