CORE GROUP
COTAA’s Core Group has four founding members: all of them are architects based in Cluj-Napoca and teaching associates at TUCN’s Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning.
Ștefania Boca graduated in 2020. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at TUCN’s doctoral school, she teaches Architectural Design Studio 5, 6 for 3rd year students since 2020. Her research primarily centers around architectural history, with a specific focus on Socialist architecture in Europe and Romania. Actively contributing to the European Middle-Class Mass Housing research group, established by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology, she is also a member of DOCOMOMORO.
Silviu Borș graduated in 2016. Being a teaching associate since 2017, Silviu teaches Architectural Design Studio 1,2 for 1st year students and History in Architecture for 4th year students, while being responsible for the study program development at the faculty. Beyond architectural design, his interests include cultural heritage and education in architecture, achieving a PhD in 2020 with the thesis entitled Singeorz-Bai – between imaginary and disappearance, revolving around the evolution of the spa phenomenon in Singeorz-Bai – his hometown – and Transilvania.
Marius Indrei graduated in 2023. Currently, Marius is a Ph.D. student at TUCN’s doctoral school, teaching Architectural Design Studio 1,2 for 1st year students, Urban Planning Design Studio for 3rd year of study and Residential Planning for the 2nd year students. His doctoral studies continue the research of his diploma project, discussing the theoretical perspective of the notion of the void in the city related to the Romanian 20th century urban planning systems.
Miruna Moldovan graduated in 2018. Since 2020, she is part of the teaching groups of the following disciplines: Architectural Design Studio 3,4 for 2nd year students and Perspective, for the 1st year students. She completed her doctoral studies in 2022, with the thesis called “Emergency housing in Romania: the social and legislative dimension of the necessity housing”. Beyond architectural design, she has a major interest in architectural photography, being a founding partner of viewcatchers.
